Olympia Fields is pretty tough, eh? Scoring yesterday was quite different than last Thursday at TPC Boston. Only 3 players under par? That's wild! Below are my picks for round 2.

Round 1 Recap

3W - 1L

Round 1 Best Score, Jon Rahm v. Im Sungjai: Jon Rahm (-159) - W
Round 1 Best Score, Kevin Kisner v. Viktor Hovland: Kevin Kisner (+120) - L
Round 1 Best Score, Kevin Kisner v. Cameron Champ: Kevin Kisner (-120) - W
Round 1 Best Score, Viktor Hovland v. Cameron Champ: Viktor Hovland (-125) - W

John Rahm did not look good finishing at +5, but still managed to beat Sungjai Im by 2 strokes. I thought Kisner and Hovland would be a close one and it was with a 1 stroke difference between the two. Both golfers finished well ahead of Cameron Champ who is currently T65...

Best Score - Round 2

Joel Dahmen v. Danny Lee

It is pretty clear these guys are going to have to hit a lot of fairways in order to have a shot at a top 5 finish. That will be a common theme with my round 2 picks. Dahmen has hit 65.49% (40th) of fairways year-to-date where Lee has hit 57.61% (159th).

Pick: Joel Dahmen (-125)

Byeong Hun An v. Patrick Cantlay

It's probably fair to say Byeong Hun An has been playing better golf lately, but I believe Cantlay is the better all-around golfer and he will prove it during Friday's round. Byeong Hun An has hit 55.19% (179th) of fairways year-to-date where Patrick Cantlay has hit 60.78% (102nd).

Pick: Patrick Cantlay (-150)

Viktor Hovland v. Cameron Champ

Riding this into round 2.

Pick: Viktor Hovland (-150)

Kevin Kisner v. Cameron Champ

Riding this into round 2 as well.

Pick: Kevin Kisner (-134)

Hideki Matsuyama v. Tyrrel Hatton

For Matsuyama to shoot -3 yesterday and be only 1 of 3 golfers to shoot under par was quite impressive. While Hatton is certainly better off the tee, Matsuyama is playing some great golf and I fully expect him to carry this momentum into Friday.

Pick: Hideki Matsuyama (-106)

Charles Howell III v. Louis Oosthuizen

Louis Oosthuizen just made it into this tournament and I'm sure he would like to stick around... He's also significantly better off the tee than Charles Howell III.

Pick: Louis Oosthuizen (-110)

Tiger Woods v. Bubba Watson

This will be a fun matchup, but Tiger shows up today and wins by at least a stroke or two. He needs to.

Pick: Tiger Woods (-110)

Paul Casey v. Robby Shelton

Paul Casey is great off the tee (24th) and frankly, both golfers have been playing really well lately. I'm giving the edge to Casey here because he is also the better scrambler.

Pick: Paul Casey (-150)

Top 10 Finish

I usually place a few bets on Top 30 and Top 40 finish, but didn't for this tournament. Looking at the leaderboard after round 1, I really like both Rory McIlroy (+110) and Tony Finau (+150) to finish in the Top 10. Rory hasn't been playing his best golf lately, but it's make or break time and he is one of the best golfers in the world.
